One of my key tips for working efficiently and effectively with an interior designer is to set realistic timelines.

Good design takes time — from listening to your goals and ideas to creating layouts and themes to selecting furniture, fixtures and finishes. Then there’s getting approvals, placing orders, deliveries and installations.

Construction timelines also need to be taken into consideration, as do order times and install timelines for things like lighting, plumbing fixtures, specialty countertops, cabinets and more.
